What is the Leadgate Taskforce?
A group of Public Spirited Villagers who actively look at the village environment and, where possible and within their range of skills and abilities, look to fix what they can.
An active community group based in Leadgate that has been created to help tackle local environmental issues in the village such as fly tipping, littering and grot spots. The group undertake litter picks and planting activities and report issues to Durham County Council so these can be addressed.
In the future, the group will also be organising local events to bring the community together and are currently discussing joint projects with communities in neighbouring villages.
