Judith Mohebbyan Art About Judith Mohebbyan Art: I create abstract fluid art on canvases. I mix additives into acrylic paint until I reach a very fluid consistency and use different pouring techniques to create different effects on the canvas. The canvas is then tilted until I am happy with the composition.   The paint that runs off the canvas I dry, and use with glass cabuchons in jewellery making. I didn’t like to waste the paint so I recycle it.  I don’t sell the jewellery online but you can find it for sale in a few local places including The Lazy Hollow in Consett, The Hub, Mint Business Club in Consett and Crafters Emporium in Prudhoe.  I occasionally hire a table at different craft fairs. As well as buying art that I have already painted, I also do commission work. I consult with clients about their specific wants and needs and create bespoke pieces for them.  I have always been an artist and have used different media over the years but have fallen in love with fluid art. Alexander’s Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning I started Alexander’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning last year with the aim to improve the quicker recoiling times commonly encountered by people who have had their carpets cleaned.  This is due to the use of detergents, we specialise in detergent free cleaning methods which means the carpets is as clean as it was when it was new with no detergent residues left in the carpet to attract dirt. This method of cleaning is better for the environment too as detergents are a by-product of the petrochemical industry and have a higher carbon footprint.  Carpet cleaning detergents are also bad for the water course damaging our aquatic life and are tipped into drains by carpet cleaners. We’re members of the trade association (NCCA) and have passed the stringent exam required to become affiliate members.  We take our trade, our customers and our environment very seriously. Conkers Life We are Conkers Life: a small independent outdoor Kindergarten and Forest School (parent and child groups and after school groups as well as holiday clubs) just at the bottom of Medomsley Bank.  We have also started running monthly wellness/mindfulness sessions for women, which is basically like Forest School!

The Shed of Steam Previously a plumber/joiner but, due to ill health, I had to find something that I could do which would put minimal strain on my health.  Old copper pipe and brass fittings were readily available to me so I began to create table lamps and this spread to other areas such as old brass blow lamps, oil cans etc and I am constantly developing new ideas and items.  I make coat hooks, bathroom sets and shelving.   I am also an Alchemy England trader and sell a vast range of ready to sell jewellery and homeware.  I also sell sterling silver jewellery.

The Cosy Byre Hi, I’m Jackie. My husband and I set up The Cosy Byre as my husband (Tom) has coeliac disease and we find it very hard to find any eateries that can guarantee 100% gluten free with no cross contamination. My love of baking (and Tom’s love of eating it) and a long term wish to set up a tea room was also a big factor. Another tick off the bucket list 😊. We will be providing 100% gluten free food and also some vegetarian, vegan and dairy free options too (which obviously will be gluten free too). What we want to say though is that just because you don’t have coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance doesn’t mean you can’t eat our food. It is just as delicious as ‘normal’ food but is a bit special 😊. A lot of our food will be made on the premises and be as natural as possible. Anything we do buy will have to have the 100% gluten free guarantee too and are mostly small businesses like ourselves. The Watcher’s Real Hi, I’m Helen from The Watcher’s Realm based in Delves Lane near Consett. I first got into jewellery making back in 2009 when I was diagnosed with MS and no longer able to work full-time. I set The Watcher’s Realm up in 2014 and since then my business has expanded and as well as handmade jewellery & accessories, I also now sell quality homeware and giftware from trusted suppliers such as Nemesis Now. Most of my items are pagan. gothic, steampunk themed with some geeky TV/film themed official merchandise too. Mini Explorers My name is Lyndsay, I’m 32 years old and have a 4 year old son.  I have over 15 years experience in childcare and during covid I became a nanny for a family in the local area. This led me on to run my own outdoor sessions for children. I will begin my forest school training in May.   Mini Explorers is a nature based stay and play located in the woodland area of shotley bridge cricket club.  We have different activities set up each week to enhance childrens’ learning, all whilst in the beautiful environment we live in.    Monday Mini Explorers 10am – 11am  (Suitable for children ages 15m -4y)   Baby Explorers -11.30am – 12.15pm (Suitable for children aged 3m – pre walkers)   Wednesday  Mini Explorers 10am – 11am (Suitable for children aged 15m-4y)
