The Project Genesis Trust works hard to support the local community. Here are a few photos of cheques being presented to some amazing local groups.
This cheque donation was to Consett Cricket Club for £500.
At Consett Cricket Club they currently run a number of junior teams including :-
- All Stars cricket which provides an introduction to cricket for children aged 5 to 8.
- Two under 9 mixed teams playing soft ball cricket.
- Two U11 girls’ teams playing softball cricket.
- Two under 11 mixed teams playing hard ball cricket.
- One under 13 mixed team playing hard ball cricket.
- One under 15 mixed team playing hard ball cricket
The transition from softball requires a range of equipment including bats, pads, gloves, helmets etc which can be a barrier to entry for some children and parents. This funding will help provide a pool of equipment for children who are interested in progressing in their cricket journey.
This grant will enable the club to purchase six full sets of equipment
