Their application said
“We are the custodian of the Miners Banner. This requires extensive repairs so it may be paraded and displayed again. It requires a new border and fringe. The water marks need to be removed and the picture improved. We would like schools and community groups to visit the banner to understand the historical significance and it to be paraded again at the Durham Miners Gala.”
