“The Grove and Moorside community is an economically deprived ward and historically receives least funding. Police and partners also generally struggle with engagement with local residents and families. Police are required to hold PACT meetings regularly in our Beat areas and to try and improve on interactions and community spirit the funding is requested to try and promote positive engagements as well as the introduction of a warm hub. The first event is to be held December in St Johns Hall, Moorside and the aim is to attract as many residents as possible from the area from all areas of the spectrum to mix and engage. There will be also partner agencies Police/Fire/Council Wardens/Local Youth Worker all on hand to
offer advice and signpost as well as a warm buffet and an appearance from Santa to encourage families and children. This event will be replicated throughout the year and funding used in the same way. Each time with different support agencies.”
