Upcoming talks from Leadgate Community History Club

Monday 20th June

Talk on Consett in Focus Photography Project – Eden Miners Centre Leadgate 7pm start – Leadgate Community History Club present –  – Talk by George, Steve and Chris plus a chance to see some of the extensive collection of photographs they have taken.

We are a group of photographers documenting the impact of Coronavirus on Consett and its communities. We intend to produce a collection of photographs which we will display on-line and in physical exhibitions around the area when appropriate

Donations to cover costs of hire of the hall and to make a donation to the project would be welcome but is optional.

Eden Miners Centre Watts Stelling on British Coins 1760-2022

Leadgate History Society is putting on a series of monthly talks starting this month and running throughout the rest of this year generally on 2nd or 1st Friday of each month at 6.30 pm.

 

Monday 18th July

A talk and demonstrations of objects and toys from 1930’s. 1940’s and 1950’s

Eden Miners Centre – 7pm.

Leadgate Community History Club are delighted to host Andrew Clark for a talk and demonstrations of objects and toys from 1930’s. 1940’s and 1950’s.

Andrew will also copies of his book for sale.

Donations to cover the cost of hire of venue and speakers fees would be welcome but is optional.

A Talk on life on the Consett Area Railways by ex guard Steve Shields

Consett Bowls Club,- Consett Park – 11am start.

History of Consett Steelworks Project present a Talk on life on the Consett Area Railways by ex guard Steve Shields.

Thanks to committee of the Consett and Blackhill park Bowls club for allowing us to use their clubhouse. Refreshments will be available for a small payment which will help with the running of the bowls club.

We will also ask for a suggested donation of £3 to support the activities of the History of Consett Steelworks project going forward.
